iProspect Search Engine User Behaviour Research: First Page Search Placement Crucial For Marketing

Marketers take note: almost two-thirds of search engine users do not look past the first page of their search results. A survey on the behaviour of search engine users conducted by JupiterResearch and iProspect in January this year revealed that 62 per cent of respondents clicked only on links that appear within the first page of search results. The research also revealed that in all, only 10 per cent of users venture beyond the third page when reviewing search results.

What this means is that it is imperative for brand marketers to ensure that their links to their websites are found on the first through third pages of search results in order to be found by Internet users seeking products, services or information. lts.
